When thinking about my art and what I want the viewer to see or understand is the traveling of light.  How it creates the shadows, high lights, and the drama of contrast between light and dark.  Until I started painting I didn't see the magic of what light can do to a subject as it crosses over.  I want you to experience and feel the "light".

My artist journey started when I was recovering from Breast Cancer about 22 years ago!  As I tell my students it probably was one of the best things that ever happened to me.  I had just remarried and didn't have to really work outside my home.  I meet my first watercolor teacher (Chris Curry), at a local art show, she was going to be teaching a watercolor class!  Well that's the  history!  I was on the 5 year plan, if you're here in 5 you may make it!  I've been teaching for 20 years, the author of 2 books (new one in the works), a host of a Local TV Show on Step by Step watercolors for 10 years, a DVD from the show is availale on the web site, along with a book which give the drawings, step by step instructions and photographs! I love teaching the "step by step" method because a student can learn all the basic techniques doing lesson projects designed to teach a technique.  Once you understand the techniques, i.e., where to start, color mixing, design elements, etc.  Then you can do your own THING!  You can't be creative or express yourself it you "don't know how to mix that color of blue, duh!!!
